German Drilling Gun Model 88/8 16g x 16g x 7.7mm made by C. Guntermann in Dusseldorf.
The 27" barrels have bright shiny bores with prominent rifling in the rifle barrel. The 16g bores are 2 3/4" and the rifle barrel is .318". The barrel & action have a tight lock up.
The receiver, sidelocks cartridge holder has quite fine scroll work and matting.
The barrels have a grey patina with several areas of pitting. The raised matt has a rear sight that is folded into it and is raised when the rifle barrel is selected.
The stock work is a typical German style with plain wood and checked pistol grip stock. It has a raised cheekpiece on the left side. It has a pistol grip cap and a horn buttplate. The stock is in good condition.
Firearms are not tested and should be inspected by a Competent Gunsmith before firing.
